Elwin the Elf

Elwin and I met by chance one snowy winter when I was photographing a stream flowing through the snow deep in the Kainuu wilderness. The surprise and amazement was certainly mutual - I had only heard stories about these tiny forest dwellers.

As we chatted, it turned out that Elwin had a lot of amazing stories to tell, and eventually, with permission, Elwin was allowed to pose for my photos. The idea was born to make Elwin's stories available to others, and so the first book of photographs, Elwin the Elf - Lost in the Wilderness, was completed in the summer of 2022.
